House rules, run for you

  • Spin Cycle21:42

Your Cottons 40° on W2 is done. D1 is free and held for you until 21:52.

  • Spin Cycle21:53

Your wash sat in W2 for 10 minutes, so the next resident moved it to the shelf by the door. It's in the basket marked W2.

You get a text with the machine and which dryer is free right now, held for you for ten minutes. Nobody walks down five floors to check.

If your load is still in, the next resident may move it to the shelf by the door, and you're told it moved. Delicates get fifteen minutes.

You join the queue. The next machine that frees up is held for you for five minutes, and you get a text when it is.

Two residents reporting the same machine within two hours take it off the booking sheet for the whole hall and email facilities with the fault and the time. Marking it fixed puts it back, and so do two hours with no new report. Downtime is counted until then.

Nobody can line-dry, so the dryers book out. At 07:00, residents who usually dry that day get a text to book early.

Facilities and the RA get last week in one email: loads, downtime per machine, and the busiest hour.

One sock, missing since Friday.

Pin your lost sock. When someone finds one that matches on colour, pattern and length, you both get a text.
